That's A Fact: The
Parkinson's disease can give you a new perspective on life. Share it.

Our September 27 meeting will give us an opportunity to learn more about the BIG and LOUD program. The BIG program works to improve strength, balance and amplitude of movement, making individuals safer and more independent when they walk and perform daily living activities. The LOUD program works to improve strength and endurance for improved volume with communication, making it easier to be heard and understood.

And if you have not done so yet, make plans to attend the American Parkinson Disease Association's Virgina Education Day in Williamsburg on Saturday, October 7. This educational event includes a neurologist panel discussion, keynote speaker and educational breakout presentations. Registration is now available online. To register and learn more, click here.

MS Support

The MS Support Group: helpful, hopeful and monthly! That's A Fact: Heat intolerance is a common condition and can cause an exacerbation of symptoms. So, during these summer months, use fans, air conditioning, cool drinks, and icy compresses to keep cool. Stay cool whenever possible.

Please join us on Tuesday, July 25 when certified yoga instructor Patrick McKeever will lead a chair yoga session. Patrick will show us how yoga can be accessible to everyone no matter how your body is at any moment.

The word 'yoga' means to yoke or join together - uniting the mind, body and spirit. Joining physical poses with the breath, action with thought, and awareness with intention can bring peace to the body, mind and spirit.

The June meeting is also a good way to spend some productive time with people who understand firsthand what you're experiencing.

Please note; we are back to our original meeting room - the neurosciences conference room in the Riverside Medical Office Building.
