That's A Fact: Educate others about Parkinson’s disease — not only friends and family, but also health care professionals. Often the public’s perception of PD is limited to “shaking.” When you help others to better understand PD, they will be more comfortable around you and other people with the disease.
A valuable resource for people with Parkinson's, their families and caregivers

With the upcoming holidays, we will be off in November and December but back to start the New Year on Jan. 25, 2017. Our January meeting will be an opportunity to catch up and come together with people who understand the challenges of managing PD as a patient, a family member or a caregiver. Sharing something you know or a coping strategy you use may make a difference in someone else's life.

In February, we will hear from Riverside neurologist Dr. Jonathan Butler about differences in symptoms and treatments.

Enjoy the holidays and we look forward to seeing you in 2017.

When:  Fourth Wednesday of each month at 5:30 p.m.
Where:  Neurosciences Conference Room

MS Support
That's A Fact: There was a time when doctors could only treat severe MS symptoms with steroids, and then hope for the best. Now, however, promising medical advances are available. Today's medications are effective in reducing the symptoms and the progression of the disease. Support and learning for people with MS, caregivers and families

Instead of our regular meeting on Tuesday, Nov. 22, we bring you a special talk, in a special location, featuring Riverside's Dr. Alvin Lloyd. This event is presented by Genzyme and is an opportunity to learn about living with relapsing MS and a once-daily pill (Aubagio) that may help with relapsing forms of MS.

This event will take place at Schooners Grill and is for those with MS, their caregivers, spouses and other family members. To RSVP for this event, please visit aubagioevents.com, call 1-866-703-6293 or email GenzymePatientRSVP@ahmdirect.com. The event code is TR385496.
