Helpful, hopeful and monthly
Whether you have recently received a diagnosis of Parkinson's
disease, have been living with it for a short time or have been
managing the disease for many years, your Peninsula Parkinson's
Support Group offers strategies on how to deal with challenges,
enhance your health and wellness and maintain your quality of
life to the highest degree possible. You have the opportunity
to see how your experience, while unique to your particular
situation, is part of a larger world of similar circumstances
and people. Simply put, you realize that you are not alone.
This month there will be two members of the
Riverside Physical Therapy and Speech staff on hand
to provide valuable information and give demonstrations
related to exercise, mobility and speech.
Mark your calendars now for the
Annual Summer Pot Luck Dinner. Riverside will provide
chicken, drinks and paper products. All you have to do is
show up with your favorite dish! Most importantly, the
Potluck provides a great opportunity to spend some quality
time with those who are also dealing with PD.

Support and learning for people with MS, caregivers and families
The MS Support Group is your chance to have a voice about your life with MS
in a setting where you can feel safe, confident and understood.
It's an opportunity to share your story, with all its achievements, challenges,
hopes and frustrations, while you also experience new coping strategies and
learn about the latest in research and treatment.
May's meeting will feature Erica Page, MS Patient Advocate,
leading a roundtable discussion on "Getting through the Day:
Tips on Making Life Easier When You Have MS."
And in addition to some thoughtful discussion, Ms. Page has invited yoga
instructor Leanne Robinson to the meeting.

Welcome to Riverside's First Steps: Your guide to information and resources
The First Steps Newsletter is 10 months of very helpful information that
will guide you through pregnancy and childbirth with tips, thoughts and
reminders that this is one of life's most incredible journeys.
You can receive your monthly newsletter electronically, via your email, or
you can pick up a printed copy each month when you go in for your monthly
appointment with your Riverside physician. Also make sure you have your copy
of the First Steps Book, a helpful guide to Riverside's wide range of
birthing services, special classes, plus a calendar for your doctor's
appointments, checklists, labor log and other helpful tools and tips. You
